Go to www.tigerdirect.com and go to their overstock/clearance sale section for deals on laptops. You can get the laptops listed in order of cost and you can look over the deals. I suggest that you look over each deal as the brands vary and so does the spec’s of each laptop.
I just bought what I think was a steal. It was a refurbished Gateway. For less than $1000, I got a 3.0 GHZ, 100 G hd, 1G ram and a great video card. Based on the spec’s of the other machines at that price, I got twice the speed and ram, 4 or 5 times the HD and the video card was way beyond what the others had.

i have two laptops running windows XP.both have wireless connectivity .
how to connect them so that i can acces the other laptop thru wireless connectivity?

I am looking for a cheap laptop which has something other than Intel Integrated Graphics and is at least capable of Pixel and Vertex Shader 2.0 or better. If this is not possible, Pixel Shader/Vertex Shader 1.1 is fine.
INTEL INTEGRATED GRAPHICS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AS BEST ANSWER
I would quite like the laptop to be under £200 and to come with XP or Linux as opposed to Vista. Or no operating system whatsoever.

How do I prevent unauthorised laptops from accessing the wired lan network – the wired lan network has about 10 machines on it – 9 desktops and 1 laptop. I want to prevent unauthorised laptops from plugging in physically to the network – by removing the CAT 5 cable and plugging in the same to the laptop – and then accessing information on the entire network.

Walmart is a good one as stated. I would look at Amazon.com as well as they have a search engine that finds the best prices. Once you think you have selected the model then run that model into Streetprices.com and see if anyone has it cheaper
